Invited Food Review at The Retro Club, KK Times Square

The Retro Club brings me back to memories lane with their authentic 70's to 90's deco, provides me a cozy and comfort place for coffee. The place is comfortably located on the Ground Floor and with their Bar located on the First Floor at KK Times Square Phase 1, Signature Offices. The Retro Club is a place which you may enjoy your moments with friends and relative for a cup of coffee as well as having a classical music with the western fusion while you dine here. The place is simply nice place to enjoy the oldies and looking back on the 70s, 80s and 90s feel. This restaurant has made it way to my favourite restaurant list and I just totally LOVE this place!

Thanks to Mr Beno and Chef Shone Majimbun for their graceful hospitality and food review invitation. The Retro Club's Chef Majimbun is a locally educated chef from Inanam, Sabah. It was during his two year stint in the United States that Chef Majimbun really learned to love and appreciate the delicacy and diversity of American Cuisine and it has shown in his cooking ever since. Chef Majimbun specialises in southern American cuisine with a touch of Sabahan flavours.

I believe he does a pretty awesome job in introducing a Sabahan like me to the Southern American cuisine. The restaurant focus is on Authenticity, Value for money, Cleanliness with a Friendly, warm and cosy environment. I think this restaurant is heaven sent to all my wishes!

Now for the Foods!

There were also Mambo Gumbo with Rice for RM7.90. Its a Hot Louisiana style shrimp soup and Grilled Chicken Caesar Salad for RM10.70. Both dishes I forgot to take their photo as they were too delicious to stay longer on their serving bowl and plate! In that I am going back for their Salad ^_^

After our dinner, we were invited to their Bar at the First Floor. The Bar is no less than awesome too! Finally a place I can rest my ears from the hammering of technos around the city. Their line-up of weekly DJs are hired specifically based on their experience in mixing retro music from 70s disco to 80s new wave to 90s pop with everything in between thrown in. The club has a strict policy to never play any songs after 1999 to maintain the retro environment that they have established. A live band is also performing three nights a week (Wednesday, Friday and Saturday) that are specifically trained to entertain you with hits from the yesteryears. Another awesome and plus points in my list! The outlet is littered with retro memorabilia to bring back the glory days of your youth whether that time was in the 70s, 80s or 90s. Ambient lighting on the floor, walls and ceiling are switched on at an eye pleasing brightness to heighten this experience. They also have ASTRO just to ensure that we are in the right decade. The disco lighting has been designed to ensure that your clubbing experience is in tune to the theme and yet not harsh. Say no more! This is my go to place from now on!

The cool bar table with rechargeable LED lights was so cool! They change color every few seconds. Nice! ^_^
